Lesson:
Many students have trouble focusing on one event. This lesson is to ensure they focus on a 'slice' and not the whole watermelon.
Write about a recess you had. It could be a good recess, a bad recess, a fun game you played. Describe the recess in as much detail as you can. Students will fill out the pinned personal narrative planning sheet. After they have completed the entire planning sheet, then can have it approved by a teacher.
Once approved, students will begin writing their recess narrative using their graphic organizer.
On day 2, show my personal narrative about a unique recess.
Choose a few student samples to show at the end.
